despite all the tourist tatt, its a charming town on a very charming island
lovely old stock
CORFU was controlled by the British for 82 years, till 1960, when fortunately it was given BACK to the locals: stopping us from modernising it and fucking it up.

saint spyridon
my absolute favourite part of corfu old town, is the holy church of saint spyridon
photos were not allowed
but it is STUNNING
and quite moving
including the room with the silver coffin of saint spyridon in that believers were coming to kiss.
a MUST see destination if you're here

dinner at NIKOLAS taverna in agne
which was very traditional and quite wonderful
obviously it would be MORE lovely if sons weren't constantly bickering and bitching at each other, which is exhausting
we want them to be with us to see and enjoy what we do, but then they depress us with the battling
when they're NOT at war, they're good company
we envy anyone who has children that get along with each other...
