got up early and drove to an Avis round the corner from our hotel to switch out knackered monster truck

the Avis that i was at didnt have anything comparable so sent me to another Avis by fisherman's wharf

they switched out monster truck for a dirty, smelly soccer mum's people carrier

so i decided to drive BACK to the airport to get a proper replacement

hangry and unamused i walked into Avis, and was greeted the lady there enthusiastically saying, 'hi, are you having a good morning?'

'not quite' i said, as i reached for the hand sanitiser on the counter, remembering the sticky steering wheel i'd just been handling

i made sure the nozzle was pointed at my left hand and gave it a good pump with my right.

perhaps the nozzle was slightly bunged up but

the resulting anti-bacterial ejaculate hit the lady behind the counter square in the face

'oops, sorrrrry' i said as she wiped it away looking less cheerful

despite this

she finally sorted me a good Tahoe with enough seats for our posse, a full sunroof and heads up display

returned happy and feeling slightly victorious which is ridiculous considering the waste of life and dick-about

after breakfast, picked up Madelyn and birthday girl zepure and drove over the Golden Gate Bridge up highway 1 into BEAUTIFUL empty countryside

fortunately my firstborn was able to do a sterling job taking my place and making ze photos

stopped in Marshall at a remote shack on the pacific for birthday bubbly and oysters which was delightful

after lunch we drove to point reyes

the side of the hill we were coming from was full sun

the other side was full sea mist and wind

couldn't see the sea, and missed the lighthouse due the the heavy sea mist

back over the the other side, we returned to sunshine
