cheers to the onions
(all photos: lucy's iphone despite me bothering to carry my canon about all day, unnecessarily)
TTT with Lucy
not for the coronation, but for Sheridan smith's brilliant one woman show 'Shirley valentine' at the Duke of york's theatre
thought we'd be fighting through huge crowds of tourists and royalists but central London was deserted.
maybe the rain had called off some less enthusiastic patriots
met our friends Maggie and Shaun at st.martins lane for a swift falling-off-the-wagon before the show
i was a big fan of the queen, not so much of the king: cannot BEAR to hear (repeatedly) how he's done so much for the environment and how important that is to him, when he bought and swiftly sold off to developers (of ugly new builds) most of the greenbelt around our medieval market town.
think he could have paid for his own party too.
agree that it was profound that the king and queen were travelling down the mall in a gold carriage over potholes filled with wet sand because no council can afford to repair them properly
not loving the way the king rushed approved the new draconian laws to stop peaceful protest too
peaceful protest in the UK MUST be allowed: we don't live in china or Russia, thankfully
i did not pledge my allegiance

the duke of yorks
probably needs a name change,
like 'jim'll mix it' becoming 'modern cement' despite jim's insistence that his name was Jim and he mixed cement

Sheridan is BRILLIANT
it's a really wonderful show that you SHOULD go and see, but you cant because its completely sold out :P
apres show, walked round to SH for dinner and more drinks
and then had a horrible time getting home by train with me cursin and hating on pubic transport
missed a train by 3 minutes at kings x
had to wait 27mins for the next, which was delayed and then further delayed and then cancelled
facing another 1hr wait for the next train without a certainty that train was coming, decided to tube south to Victoria and wait another 25mins for the next train
in fairness to south eastern trains, the problem was a pain in the ass trespasser walking on the line near ebbsfleet
i might have been tempted to drive the train over him and kept on schedule
lovely south eastern trains also gave us all coronation chocolates, packets of wild flower seeds and a costa coffee voucher on our train to town
